Alma Gertrude Warner was welcomed into the Kingdom of heaven on Tuesday, April 30, 2019. Alma is now united with her husband Art, parents August and Karoline Kaminski, brothers Albert, Oswald, Norman, sister Agnes Hepting, son-in-law Victor Zapf, and great-grandson Riley Thibault. Alma was born on February 20, 1921 in Southey, SK where she lived until her marriage on May 25, 1942 to Art Warner. Together they lived in Regina, Vancouver, Edmonton, and Saskatoon where Alma made her home for the past 70 years. Alma was a homemaker and loved to bake, and took pride in gardening and sewing. While living in Vancouver for several years she worked as a tailor sewing army uniforms for the service men while Art served in the army. Alma is lovingly remembered by: daughters Carol-Lynne Zapf, children, Kara & Carissa; Elaine Walter (Ron), children Ryan Walter (Carla), Rene Thibault (Sharrod); son Mel Warner (Linda) children Hillary Yaremchuk (Kevin) and Lisa Warner (Alistair Hales). She is also survived by great-grandchildren Carter Walter, Jonah Thibault, sister Minnie Kaminski, sister-in-law Sonia Kaminski and many nieces and nephews. Alma’s Service of Remembrance will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Resurrection Lutheran Church (310 Lenore Drive) in Saskatoon, conducted by Rev. Ali Tote. The family would like to thank Elderlife Care Home staff, Stephen Minister Karen Heise, Dr. Daniel Glaeske, Seniors First Program, CPAS Palliative Care Services, and Dr. Stakiw - St. Paul’s Hospital Palliative Care Unit for their loving care of our mom.
