Arnold was born on January 21, 1917 in Tartu-Roela, Estonia to August and Alide Maasik. In 1945 Arnold married Katharina Pries in Nuremberg. In 1952 they immigrated to Canada to join Katharina’s mother, making Saskatoon their home. He worked as a mechanic and later on for the CPR. In 1960 he joined the Saskatoon Star Phoenix and worked there until his retirement in 1982. He is predeceased by his parents, his wife Katharina, and his brother and sister.
A Graveside Service for Arnold will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 10:00 am at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Esther Patkau officiating. Arrangements are in care of Acadia-McKague’s Funeral Centre 306-955-1600.
