It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Clinton. Clinton was taken from us suddenly in an accident that occurred underground at Mosaic Colonsay Potash Mine on the morning of June 16, 2011. Clinton spent his childhood growing up in the quaint and quiet community of Bradwell, Saskatchewan with his older brother Collin, younger sister Charlene, and mom and dad - Ken and Judy Walker. Clinton attended Allan school and in his grade twelve year transferred to Holy Cross where he played football and graduated. In the spring of 1995 Clinton met the love of his life, Teresa Erixon. On September 4, 1999 they were married in a beautiful fall ceremony. On December 20, 2000 they were blessed with the birth of their son, Emmett. Clinton’s million dollar family was completed on October 24, 2004, when their beautiful daughter Payton arrived. Clinton and his family have called the community of Clavet their home for the past nine years.
In the spring of 2004 Clinton joined the team at Mosaic Colonsay. Clinton operated a variety of equipment underground and worked on several crews before his current position on the underground drill and blast team. He was continuously improving his skills through training and courses at every opportunity. Clinton was passionate about his work and was well known by everyone on-site. Clinton was a USW Local 7656 representative. He was a proud and loyal member of the Mosaic Mine Rescue Team over the past seven years. He was lucky enough to train and compete with a broad range of team members. Over the past several years, Clinton has competed provincially, nationally, and internationally. The highlight of his Mine Rescue career was competing in the international competition in Reno, Nevada during the summer of 2008. Clinton was also known as “Chil” by the 64th Lakers Cub Scout Group who he was a leader for. Clinton was an avid outdoor enthusiast who had a great love and appreciation for nature. His passions were hunting, fishing, quadding, camping, hiking, and the wilderness. There was always something “in season”.
Clinton was a person who enjoyed being around people and made it his duty to see that everyone around him was having a good time. He was a kind, caring, and compassionate man who had no qualms about saying how he felt. Clinton always lived in the moment and encouraged others to do the same. He was known to always have a smirk on his face and a witty comment to follow. Clinton enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest - he had no regrets. Clinton was always up for a good time and was sure to make every event a lively one. He was a man of action who was always the first to lend a helping hand. Clinton was a man of integrity who treasured his friendships. Clinton portrayed a tough exterior but had the biggest heart made of gold. He was a very affectionate man who was known as a hugger and “touched” many lives. Clinton was a Godly man who had a wonderful faith and relationship with God.
Clinton’s greatest accomplishment in life was being a Daddy. He was a Dad who would get on his hands and knees to play, who would dress up in clothes and have tea parties, and was never too busy for one more story. He was proud of Emmett and Payton and always encouraged them that being themselves was more than enough. He loved them for who they were and what they made him. He taught them some wonderful life lessons and they taught him some as well. He loved family vacations and exploring new things with his family. Clinton was very devoted to his family and took great pride in providing for them. There is NOTHING Clinton would not do for Teresa, Emmett, and Payton. They were the center of his world and he always made sure his love was felt. They made his heart overflow with pride and he was sure to tell whoever would listen.
Clinton made a huge impact in this world. The loss of him will be immense. He will be forever cherished and longed for by his best friend and wife of eleven and a half years, Teresa. We won’t say good-bye, we’ll see you again just not soon enough. Those left to cherish memories of Clinton include: Teresa, Emmett, Payton, his dog Max, his Mom and Dad - Ken and Judy Walker, his brother and family Collin, Becky, Caleb, and Jackson, his sister and family Charlene, Jeff, Ellie, and Hudson, and numerous extended family by blood and love.
The Celebration of Clinton’s Life will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. at Lakeview Church. A trust fund has been set up for Emmett and Payton and can be mailed to or dropped off at The RBC Royal Bank 2802 8th St. E, Saskatoon, SK S7H 0V9.
