October 16, 1950 – May 2, 2016
It is with great sadness that the family of Denise Dube announces her sudden passing. Denise left us as she was preparing to sing with Joy of Jammin’ on a beautiful sunny spring morning in the park. This was a pastime she enjoyed very much. Denise is survived by her son Brent (Jennifer) of Calgary, her granddaughter Crystal Robertson (Grady) and her four great grandchildren Shayla, Ethan, Jocelynn and Riley, and her special friend Richard Thomson. Also mourning her passing are her sister Loree Ann Graham (Kent) and her Holaday brothers Dale (Diana), Gerard (Cheryl), Ronald (Norma), Kerry (Donna) and Brian (Mark). Denise leaves behind sixteen nieces and nephews, and 27 great nieces and nephews. Denise was predeceased by her parents John and Regina (nee Durham) in 1982 and 1991 respectively, and Brent’s father Phil Dube (in 1991). Denise was born in LeRoy SK., and lived in Sinnett SK. until 1955 when the family moved to Watson SK. She completed her schooling in Watson before marrying Phil Dube in 1970. She moved to Saskatoon in 1991 where she worked at the Sask Abilities Council until her retirement in 2014. Denise participated in a Writers’ Group for 20 years where her creative writing skills resulted in two articles being published in the Transitions Newsletter. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s League for over 40 years and was a strong believer in the power of prayer. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Philip Neri (1902 Munroe Avenue) on Saturday May 7th at 10:30 a.m. Burial will take place in Watson at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in the afternoon with a Prayer Service at 3:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Parish. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Camp Easter Seal (1410 Kilburn Ave, S7M 0J8) or the charity of your choice in Denise’s memory.
