

The family of Don McDonald are sad to announce his passing on Friday, September 21, 2018. Don was a man of many passions and talents who gave of himself, his time and his energy to countless organizations and causes. He was a proud Scotsman and played the bagpipes for over 65 years. Don was a dedicated member and leader in the Saskatoon Hilltops, Freemasons, the Royal Canadian Legion, Shriners, St. John’s Ambulance, the North Saskatchewan Regiment, and was honored in several Sport Halls of Fame. He was recognized and acknowledged for his outstanding volunteer contributions locally, provincially and nationally. Family was everything to Don and he will be sadly missed. Don was predeceased by his wife Elaine and his son Jamie (Maureen). He leaves to mourn, his daughters Heather Dennill (Clark), Bonnie McMurtry (Dan) and Laura Gignac (Steve). The light of his life was his family and his grandchildren. Don and Elaine were blessed with 8 grandsons and 3 great-grandchildren; Tyler (Felix) Dennill, Jade (Maia, Charlotte and Clark) Dennill, Adam (Laura), Graham (Amanda) & Logan (Allyson) McMurtry, Kyle and Lee Gignac and Dylan McDonald. Also left to grieve is his sister Mary Creamer and his nieces and nephews. The Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 29 at the Saskatoon Inn (2002 Airport Dr.). Please join the family in celebrating Don's life. A Private Family Interment will be held at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
