Don was known and loved by countless people in Saskatoon from a long, impactful career as a teacher. Don was also heavily involved in the Saskatoon sports scene both as an active curler and coaching teams in many sports throughout his life. He touched numerous lives coaching the Aden Bowman Bears football team, the Evan Hardy Souls Football, Soccer, Basketball and Curling teams.
He also spent time as the U of S Huskies defensive coordinator and the
Head Coach of the Saskatoon Hilltops.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years Arleigh Mantyka, his children Bill (Kandy) Mantyka and Rae (Glenn Leuschen) Beaumont, and his much loved grandchildren Drew (Sammy Ramsay) Mantyka, Evan (Skyler Smith) Mantyka, and Kate Mantyka. And also by his sister Sherry Mantyka and family.
Per Don’s wishes there will be no services.
Don lived his life caring about others. He was a friend to all and enemy of none.
