Donna was born on October 14th, 1959 to Lester and Alois(Quaal) Engebretson in Rose Valley, SK. She spent most of her early life on the family farm. While attending school, Donna was active in school sports such as volleyball and basketball. She won the Algebra award in grade 12. In 1977, Donna graduated from high school and went on to pursue post secondary studies. During her studies she welcomed a daughter, Glory(1983). In 1988, Donna met her future husband, Frank and together they began a relationship that would last 36 1/2 years. Donna and Frank married in 1992 and their children Reid(1995), J.D.(1997), and Ciara(1999) were born. In 1993, they started their own home renovation company which operated successfully for 17 1/2 years until Frank’s health declined. Donna became the sole financial provider for the family. With her unwavering determination for higher education throughout her life, Donna achieved degrees in Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), Bachelor of Social Work (BSW), Bachelor of Commerce (B. Comm), and a Master of Business Administration (MBA). Donna’s door was always open to family. She was her family’s biggest cheerleader. We could always count on her to be on the sidelines cheering us on. Donna was also a lifelong fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders. She recently received season tickets and brought anyone along who wanted to cheer them on with her. Donna spent many holidays with family at the cabin. She always found the cabin to be her place of serenity. She called it her “happy place”. Donna dedicated her life to her family and education, which never gave her much time for herself however, she recently took a solo trip to the East Coast and was very glad she did.
