Edgar Norbert Isley passed away peacefully on May 20, 2022 at the Rosetown Hospital. He fought and struggled with deteriorating health issues for many years. He was born June 6, 1935 at Rosetown and was the 3rd youngest child from a family of 13. His parents were Adam and Eda Isley.
Dad went to DollyBrae School and completed his Grade 6 before he started helping his Dad with farming. He drove the school bus for 36 years and drove many generations of students to school. Dad grain farmed, raised cattle and pigs. In his younger years, Dad curled, enjoyed taking the boys to their hockey games, and enjoyed dancing and playing cards with family and friends.
After retiring from farming for 45 years, Mom and Dad moved to Saskatoon. Dad worked for Les Bell for many years before he officially retired. His summers were spent at Aquadeo with Aunt Marie relaxing and fishing. Dad was a member of the Elks for 50 plus years.
Edgar married Darlene Billett in 1956 and they were married for 47 years, before she passed in 2003.
They raised 6 children, Debra Danielson (Eldon) of Birch Hills, Don (Shelly) of Vanscoy, Greg (Lavrene) of Saskatoon, Bonnie Wells (Gerald) of Eston, Shelley Currie (Erroll) of Delisle, and Jackie Bell (Darren) of Rosetown.
They have 21 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and one great, great granddaughter.
Dad is survived by his 3 sisters and 5 sister-in-law’s.
There will be a private family burial and a Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 28 at the Rosetown Civic Centre at 2:00 pm. Memorial donations in Edgar’s memory may be made to the Rosetown Ositis Foundation or the Elks and Royal Purple Children Fund. Arrangements entrusted to David Schurr
