

She was born on the family farm north of Bracken, Sask. on July 17, 1917 to Edward and Minnie Benson. She was the youngest of their five children. She received most of her schooling in a small one room school house north of Bracken, SK.
She attended Covenant Bible College in Prince Albert, SK and North Park College in Chicago for her formal Bible training. Then she attended U of S in Saskatoon where she graduated with a BA degree.
Edna taught at Covenant Bible College as well as served as a parish worker at several churches in such places as Minton, SK., Prince Albert, SK., Alder Flats, AB., and Malmo, AB.
Edna worked at Saskatoon's City Hospital, U of S Library in the cataloguing department and after retirement volunteered at St. Paul's hospital.
Edna was a vibrant, energetic person who found many ways to serve others as well as her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She was very active in her church as long as she was able.
In the later years Edna lived at Elim Lodge, Prairie Springs Care Home, Sunnyside Care Centre and lastly at Circle Drive Alliance Care Home. The family wishes to express our thanks and appreciation to all the staff at these facilities for the care they gave our aunt.
Edna was predeceased by her Mother & Father, Minnie and Edward Benson; her sisters; Evelyn (Severt) Hanson, Melvina Benson, and Hulda (her infant sister); her brothers, Vincent (Gladys) Benson, Elmer (Ruth) Benson; her nephew-in-law, Keith Fullerton; her grand nephews William & Willard Collie, and her grand nieces Tobi Benson and Rhonda Collie. Her great-grand nephews, Montana McKinley and Ryan Milutinovic.
Edna is survived by her nieces and nephews: Vi Fullerton, Eunice (Willard) Walton, Edythe (Willard) Schneider, Paul(Sharon) Benson, Sylvia (Brian) Blick, Audrey (Bill) Collie, Marvin Hanson, Arlene (Paul) LaFleur, Margaret (Ivan) Norlander, Elwood (Doreen) Benson, Bryan (Marion) Benson, Colleen (Bruce) Johnston, and Janice (Len) Halderman. Also numerous grand and great grand nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 3:00 PM Oct. 4, 2013 at the College Park Covenant Church (909 Acadia Dr., Saskatoon, SK.). Donations in Edna's memory may be made to Kernels of Hope, an agency that seeks to raise funds to help the people of North Kivu in Congo, Africa to resettle their farmland after the wars. They help them to attain seed, tools and even fishing equipment to feed their families and have extra income to better their lives.
