Edward Fredrick Fruson

1926-2016

The family of Edward thank God for the gifts and talents that He shared with them through this wonderful man. Ed was born March 29, 1926 in Kerrobert, SK. He married Marjorie Umphrey of Fusilier in 1953 and had four children. He was raised on a farm in the Cactus Lake area, attended Concordia College in Edmonton for Gr 12 and graduated from Teacher’s College at the UofS. He taught at various rural schools, starting in a one-room schoolhouse. He periodically returned to UofS and UofO, eventually achieving five degrees, while working at senior administrative roles in education. He served at Siefert School, Elk School (Teacher), Kerrobert, Kindersley (Vice Principal) and Northern Saskatchewan (Superintendent, Assistant Director and Regional Director). He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and building. He was a church board member and worked with LAMP. His church-life has always been important to him and he felt richly blessed by our Lord, Jesus Christ. Ed will be lovingly missed by his wife Marj; four children and spouses: Dwight (Hjordis), Brian (Joan), Lyle (Marla) and Linda (Tom); eight grandchildren: Dustin, Jesse, Chelsie (Ryan), Bailie (Rob), Mandee, Courtney, Alexis and Larissa; and four great-grandchildren: Hunter, Harlynn, Merrick and Piper; as well as his three brothers and three sister-in-laws: Herb (Lynette), Bill (Darlene) and Art (Chris); and a large extended family. Ed was predeceased by his parents Herbert and Linda (nee Schober) Fruson. He passed away in Wainwright, AB on January 20, 2016.
