

Elsie was born March 1, 1937, in Meacham, SK., to Bill and Anne Rachey. The family moved to Saskatoon in the early 1950s where Elsie completed her education and began her working career. After holding a number of jobs, Elsie found her dream job when she was hired by Buckwold Wholesale. The biggest attraction of the job for Elsie was the Buckwold family and her fellow employees.
Elsie found the love of her life in Ken Jackson and the two were active in a social group and especially enjoyed dancing. In retirement Elsie loved playing badminton, walking and golfing.
Elsie was predeceased by her husband Ken, her son Van Vancoughnett, an infant daughter Beverley Ann Vancoughnett and a brother Nick (Louise) Rachey of Toronto. She is survived by her daughter Betty Ann Covey of Kamloops, her sister Syl Nicholson of Sacramento, her brother Julian (Pat) Rachey of Calgary and a sister Darcia (Al) Dooley of Edmonton. Left to cherish her memory are numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Betty Sandulak and her staff for the care Elsie received during the last four years.
A private family service will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date.
