Ernest Otto Walter

October 9, 1920 – February 25, 2011

With deep sadness we announce the passing of Ernest on Friday, February 25, 2011 at St. Paul’s Hospital at 90 years of age. He is survived by: Irene, his loving wife of 59 years; brothers Elvin (Margaret), and George (Winnifred); sisters Emma, Winnie, Edna, Lil, and Evelyn (John); sisters-in-law Doreen and Joyce; brother-in-law Bob; and many nieces, nephews and good friends. He was pre-deceased by his parents Jacob and Maria; sisters Elizabeth and Ella; brothers Edward and Ewald; also Phillip and Esther in infancy. Ernest enjoyed sports, baseball, curling, golf and also traveling to many points in the States and Canada with friends. He also enjoyed playing cards and there were many laughs to be had as his keen sense of humor came to the fore. The Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday March 2, 2011 at 1:30 pm from Faith Lutheran Church (2801 Preston Ave), where Ernest was a lifetime member, officiated by Pastor Howard Ulmer and Pastor Rudy Pastucha. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Faith Church Memorial Fund, Haultain Cemetery Fund, or to a charity of your choice.
