Eveline was born at St. Paul’s Hospital in Saskatoon and grew up on the family farm just east of Kenaston. Mom moved to Davidson for high school. After graduating she worked as a telephone operator for SaskTel in Davidson, Melville, and Saskatoon, ending her career as a telephone operator supervisor. It was when she was working in Saskatoon that she attended a co-worker’s wedding in Colonsay where she met Dad. They married on January 24, 1959, and made their home on the farm 15 miles north of Colonsay. They moved into Saskatoon in their 70’s, to St. Ann’s Place in 2009, to Trinity Manor in 2020 and in 2021 to Samaritan Place.
Mom was a faith-filled woman who instilled in her children the importance of God in their lives. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s League for most of her adult life and was on the executive. Mom’s love for her family was shown in the love & care in each quilt she made for her children & grandchildren, her willingness to lend a hand wherever she could, in her encouraging words, her joy at each dance performance, graduation, & wedding she attended, and in every Saskatoon berry pie & doughnut she made. She had a great sense of humor, enjoyed playing kaiser and spending time with her family. Mom and Dad enjoyed many activities through the years like dancing, golf, camping and fishing. They enjoyed travelling to places like Hawaii, southern US, Mexico, and the west coast, as well as gambling trips to North Dakota and through Manitoba & Saskatchewan.
