Fern Ruth Berg (Brody) b. July 23 1935, d. March 25 2023. Survived by her 2nd husband, Gordon MacKinnon, three children, Lyle, Glen and Ken, 3 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren. Fern was predeceased by her 1st husband, Roy Berg and grandchild, Ashten. She was a Physch nurse as well as an active volunteer of Meals on Wheels, and a wide variety of church and social organizations in the Prince Albert, Kinistino, Weldon and Saskatoon communities. She played basketball in high school, and curled for many years as well as cross country skiing.
A prolific knitter she made many afghans, including ones made for church raffles, clothing and blankets for her relatives and friends. She also did other handcrafts, including needlework, crotchet and ceramics. She gladly helped out in kitchens and fed many.
Beloved by many, she was a warm and supportive daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She rarely raised her voice except to cheer on those she proudly supported in sports. Devoted Christian, she attended Anglican and Lutheran church services in the places she lived.
If you choose to donate anything in her name, she has chosen the Kinistino Half Century Club, the Kinistino Cemetery and St George Anglican Church in Kinistino.
She will be buried in the Kinistino Cemetery, joining her parents and first husband Roy, and other relatives.
