Our beautiful, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Florence, died peacefully and on her own terms on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at the age of 93.
Left to mourn her passing and to celebrate her life are her husband of 66 ½ years, Arthur Densley; daughters, Glenda (Bob) Forward, Kathy (Doug) Chisholm, and Donna (Rejean) Doucet; granddaughter, Carina (Graham) Calow; grandson, Alex (Brianne) Chisholm and special great grandsons, Ronan and Spencer Calow. Florence is also survived by her brother, Ken Williamson of Rivers, Manitoba, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A founding member of Goforth Memorial Presbyterian Church (now Calvin-Goforth), Florence’s faith and church family were very important to her. She had a kind and generous heart, a beautiful smile, and always put others before herself. Among the many gifts Mum passed on to her daughters were a strong sense of values, a love of reading, and independent thinking.
Our special thanks go to the SHR Home Care staff whose aid allowed Florence to remain in her home with Art for an additional six years, and also to the special staff at Stensrud Lodge for their kindness and care during the six months Mum lived there.
In lieu of flowers, Florence requested that donations be made to the Children’s Hospital Foundation of Saskatchewan, 1-345 Third Ave S, Saskatoon, SK S7K1M6, or www.childrenshospitalsask.ca
The Funeral Service will be held at Calvin-Goforth Presbyterian Church (corner of Sommerfeld Ave and Third St. East) on Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 2:00 PM. Interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Saskatoon, SK. Arrangements entrusted to Acadia-McKague’s Funeral Centre.
Mum is forever loved. We will miss her very much.
