Garnet passed away in his 89th year at Sunny Side Nursing Home on June 4th, 2017. Beloved husband of his late wife Yvonne. Garnet will be sadly missed by his children; Patrice, Connie McNairn (Bill), Teresa Jones (David), Ron (Linda), Michelle Kushner (Bruce) and his loving Grandchildren; Craig McNairn (Jessica), Jamie Lloyd (Jeff) Bobbie, Curtis (Chad), Lindsay Jepsen, Jaryd Buck and Cory Jensen. Cherished by his great grandchildren; Emily, Carson, Megan McNairn, Jenna Lloyd, Jackson and London Curtis. Garnet is survived by his sisters; Pearl Blacklock, Jean Foster, Betty Hrycroy, Brother Billy. Robert was predeceased by brothers; Larry, Jerry, Roy, Eddie and sisters; Nora Smith and Arlene Ironside. Garnet spent his early childhood growing up and going to school in Shell Lake. Following in his father’s footsteps, Garnet found work at a lumber camp in Northern B.C. A few years later he decided to return to Saskatchewan and settled in Saskatoon. While back he was introduced into the fur trade business where he had a long and successful career as a furrier. Garnet later met and married his wife Yvonne and soon began a family. Garnet had a competitive spirit and played many sports such as baseball, softball, volleyball and pool. Garnet was also an avid card player as well. But Garnet was probably best known for his bowling. He and Yvonne enjoyed playing in many leagues together over the years. Garnet will be sadly missed by his family.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Dube Center at Royal University Hospital.
