

1944 – 2025
Janet Fay Ehrmantraut (née Holowaty) passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on August 4, 2025, at the age of 80.
Janet will be lovingly remembered by her devoted husband of 60 years, Lawrence Ehrmantraut, and their children: Dean, Lana (Gerald), and Lyle (Alison). She was a proud and deeply involved grandmother to Kendall Ehrmantraut, Adam Ehrmantraut, Erik Ehrmantraut, Taylor (Lee) Reich, Cassidy Reich, Abbie Kappel (Rhett), Kersey Reich, Jackson Forrester, Brett Ehrmantraut, and Lane Ehrmantraut. In recent years, she embraced her new role as great-grandmother with great joy, welcoming two little boys, Porter Kappel and Tate Reich.
She is also survived by her sister Eleanor (Roger) Birtles, and brothers Steven, Norman, and Grant (Sharon) Holowaty. Janet will be fondly remembered by her sisters-in-law Marie Bonokoski, Bette Ehrmantraut, and Irene Craig, along with many special nieces and nephews who always held a place in her heart.
Janet was predeceased by her infant son, Darren Ehrmantraut; her parents, Bill and Mary Holowaty; sisters-in-law Phyllis Holowaty and Carol Holowaty; her parents-in-law, Anton and Mary Ehrmantraut; brothers and sisters-in law Martin Bonokoski, George and Rose Ehrmantraut, Bert and Frances Dreher, Matt Ehrmantraut, and Earl Craig.
A passionate educator for over 58 years, Janet dedicated her life to teaching—continuing to substitute well into her seventies. She had an eye for detail and a deep appreciation for life’s moments, always documenting family events with photos, stories, and warm hospitality. Her door was always open, her camera never far, and her love for people unmistakable.
Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the lessons she shared, and the family she loved so dearly.
A prayer service will be held on Friday, August 8 at 7:00 pm at Holy Spirit Parish, Saskatoon. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 9 at 10:30 am at Holy Spirit Parish, Saskatoon. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow in the welcome area of the church. Interment will take place in Torquay at a later date.
