Jeanne was born in Saskatoon and attended school at Mount Royal Collegiate, graduating in 1974. She obtained her nursing degree in Regina and then worked at City Hospital in Saskatoon, either in the operating room or at the desk, for 42 years. She thoroughly enjoyed her career, the daily challenges it brought and the time spent there. Along with it came an abundance of worthy and lifelong friends who will miss her deeply. She had just recently retired in 2020 and was looking forward to spending this time with her precious grandkids but unfortunately God had other plans. Last May she was diagnosed with Cancer and after a year in hospital lost that battle on May 25, 2023 at the Glengarda hospice in Saskatoon.
Jeanne loved crafting, her main one lately was quilting, too which a lot of the grandkids were recipients of, each one made with tons of love. Camping, travelling, Ford cars, Hockey mom, gardening, reading, stained glass, stepping stones, all passions of hers. She loved to be busy. So many things to do, so little time! She was also a woman of strong faith and walked through life with God at her side. Words cannot express this loss to our family but we can find peace knowing the pain and suffering she had to endure over this period is now gone she is in good hands.
We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to all the staffs at the Cancer clinic, RUH oncology and neurology departments, the TCU at City hospital and the Glengarda Hospice for the way you guided Jeanne through this painful, frustrating process and to exhaust all possible options for a better outcome. A huge Thank You to all for all the visits, flowers, cards and prayers from family and friends, it provided much needed support for Jeanne at this extremely difficult time.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2023 at Riverbend Church of God, (306 Saguenay Drive in Saskatoon). Lunch and fellowship to follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memoriam of Jeanne, may be made to the Glengarda Hospice 301 Hilliard St E in Saskatoon SK.
Arrangements entrusted to Travis Minor.
