John passed away peacefully at the age of 91 with family by his side at RUH in Saskatoon, SK. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Beatrice Kammerer; seven children, Melvin (Judy) Kammerer, Leonard (Pam) Kammerer, Dennis (Barb) Kammerer, Joanne Ross (John Wilkinson), Janet (Jeff) Holstein, James Kammerer, Dale Kammerer; seven grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren. John was predeceased by his parents, Leo and Mary Kammerer; and brothers, Gordon, Jerome and Tony Kammerer. John was a school teacher for five years. He worked for the Co-operative movement for 33 years and resided in many communities in Saskatchewan. He often talked about the many long lasting friendships that were made during his time in those communities. John was a sports enthusiast and an excellent baseball player. He spent many happy hours watching and cheering on his children and grandchildren playing on sports teams. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (222 Queen St Suite 1402, Ottawa, ON K1P 5V9) and the Canadian Diabetes Association (2301 Ave C North #104, Saskatoon, SK S7L 5Z5) would be appreciated. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 10 at Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church (114 Kingsmere Plc).
