John Nerland

John passed away on June 22nd, 2021 at St. Paul’s Hospital, Saskatoon, SK at the age of 86.  Johnny “John” Laurie Nerland was born on a farm near Lanigan, SK, on January 15th, 1935, to parents Melvin and Mary Nerland. He was one of 10 children. John married the love of his life, Louise, on June 25th, 1960 in Regina, SK. They went on to have two children. John was employed by the Canada Federal Department of Agriculture for 21 years and retired in 1995. He enjoyed his retirement spending summers at Coteau Beach, SK, and winters in Yuma, Arizona.

John is survived by his wife of 61 years, Louise Nerland; his son, Cameron and daughter, Glenda (Wayne). John is also survived by his grandchildren: Tyler, Ashley (Fabian), and Reed; as well as great-grandchildren: Sophie, Luka and Maddyn. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House or to the Kidney Clinic at St. Paul’s Hospital.
