It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of the light of our lives, Joshie. Born in Saskatoon, he was surrounded by a family overflowing with love—his mother, Tamara (Semchuk), father, Anthony Nelson, and Grandma Debbie Hamilton.
Josh leaves behind his loving family: Tamara (Mark) Shimell, sister Madilyn, brother Levi, Grandma Debbie, favorite Auntie Jodi, and cousins Shawn, Janie, and Lillie Freeland. He also cherished his Grandpa Tom Semchuk and father Anthony (Pauline) Nelson, along with his extended family, Tahlia, Robert, Brynna, and Caden. He was predeceased by his sister Jordan.
Josh had a zest for life, especially when it came to sports. Whether it was soccer, basketball, baseball, bowling, or snowboarding, he excelled at everything he tried. However, skateboarding held a special place in his heart. He spent countless hours at the skate park, honing his skills and encouraging new skaters to find their rhythm on the board.
Traveling the world was another passion of Josh's; he embraced every opportunity to explore new places and meet new people, always returning with stories that brought smiles to our faces.
Taken from us too soon at the age of 29, Josh’s spirit will forever live on in our hearts. We gather today to celebrate his incredible life—a life filled with compassion, laughter, kindness, and boundless energy.
All the pain and grief is over; every restless tossing past; I am now at peace forever, safely home in heaven at last.
Catch you on the flip side, Josh. Your light will always shine brightly in our memories.
