June Maurine Rutherford

June Maurine Rutherford (Steve), 78, of Saskatoon passed away in St. Paul’s Hospital in the presence of her loving family on July 31, 2014.  She was born in Warman, SK on June 1, 1937, daughter of Sarah (Stahl) and Herman Steve. She married Doug Rutherford on February 25, 1956.   She is survived by Doug, her spouse of 58 years; her two children: Terry (Jacques Bel) and Doug (Josie Loor) and their three children: Jenna, Jeremy and Chantel; her sister, Ruth Niven; her brother and sister-in-law,  Bruce and Jean Rutherford; as well as by her many nieces and nephews.   June was an accomplished amateur painter and an enthusiastic flower gardener.   She touched all with her open unconditional love.  ‘To know her was to love her’ . She was called Grandma and Auntie June by all of the many children who came into her care.   She always looked for and found the good in others and was loved by all who came to know her.  Interment of her urn will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery, Saskatoon on Saturday August 9 at 1p.m. Friends are invited to attend and there will be a reception in her garden following the burial.  In lieu of flowers; donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at St. Paul’s Hospital (1702-20th St W, Saskatoon, S7M 0Z9).   Cremation arrangements in care of Cheryl Carlson - MOURNING GLORY FUNERAL SERVICES (306-978-5200) www.mourningglory.ca
