Liza Havlicek

Liza Marie Nicole Havlicek passed away on February 23rd, 2022 at the Hospice at Glengarda in Saskatoon, SK. She passed peacefully with her two children at her side. She was born April 17th, 1965, in Wakaw, Saskatchewan to Jean and Roseline Deault. She was the second youngest of 9 girls and she had an amazing childhood with her sisters and loving parents.

She attended St. Isidore de Bellevue School and graduated in 1983. Following graduation, she moved to Prince Albert where she met William (Bill) Havlicek and they married October 10th, 1987. Together they had two children, A.J. and Nicolette.

She had worked various jobs in Prince Albert while raising her children. She was a hard worker and found her true passion in teaching at the age of 41. She obtained her Bachelor of Education from the University of Saskatchewan with Great Distinction. She was a dedicated student and was selected as class Valedictorian. She loved being surrounded by family and friends, playing cards, listening to music, singing, teaching and most of all she loved her children and grandson Hudson.

Liza will be lovingly remembered by her mother Roseline Deault; sisters: Lina (Bill); Germaine (Aurele); Marie (Berny); Elise (Johnny); Angeline (Bob); Therese (Ralph); and Ginette (Harlan); son A.J. Havlicek (Kate); daughter Nicolette (Carter); grandson Hudson and many nieces and nephews. She will also be lovingly remembered by many students, friends and co-workers. She is predeceased by her father Jean Deault; sister Diane Deault; Husband William (Bill) Havlicek; and father in-law Walter Havlicek.

A Celebration of Liza’s Life will be held on Saturday, March 12th, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Art Hauser Centre (Ches Leach Lounge) in Prince Albert. Everyone is welcome. There will be a private family internment at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Hospice at Glengarda (301 Hilliard St. East, Saskatoon, SK S7J 0E5) in Liza’s honour.
