
The awesome Lorraine Carriere had her last cup of coffee on January 8, 2022 following a brief battle with cancer. Born November 18, 1947, with her twin Lorrette Johnson, in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. She attended the Wing District school and Meota school. Lorraine married the love of her life, Leonard, on July 2, 1966. They moved around for the first years of their marriage eventually settling in Saskatoon. Lorraine worked 30 plus years in the grocery trade. She was very involved with the local stock car club in its early years, serving as head of the Stockette Club and hand making burger patties for the race meets. Lorraine loved to watch her grandkids participate in sports and traveling with Len. She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 55 years, Leonard Carriere. Her children, son, Levern (Kristeen Laidlaw), their children Ashley (Mike) Lester, Matt (Kirsten) Wakelin, Cristopher, Samantha (Courtney Lucas), Masen (Shayln Fedler). Daughters: Lauralee (Brent McElwee), their children Steve (Lyndsay) Evett, Bret Ross, Paige Ross, Jaime Ross and Alec McElwee. Leica, her children Austin and Hailee Carlson. Her numerous Great Grandchildren, brothers and sisters. Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, Rudy and Jessie Iverson, her in laws, George and Therese Carriere and her sisters in law, Shirley and June. Many thanks to the staff at the Royal University Hospital Unit 6000 and the wonderful staff at the Hospice at Glengarda for the care Lorraine received during the last days of her life. In lieu of flowers the family asks donations made in Lorraine’s name to the Hospice at Glengarda (301 Hilliard Street East Saskatoon SK S7J 0E5). A Celebration of Lorraine’s life will be held on Saturday June 11, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kicking Horse Saloon at Prairieland.
