With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Lynn Margaret Gee on Friday, March 17, 2023. She was lovingly surrounded and comforted by family and friends who were able to visit her during her final few weeks.
Lynn was predeceased by her parents Bruce and Elinor McKerr, her younger sister Joy McKerr and the love of her life Dr. Bill Gee. She is survived by her two children Loren (Nicole) and Brennen (Melissa) as well has her grandchildren Ellie, Ava, Scarlet, Mack and Thalia.
Lynn was born in Milton, Ontario on September 14, 1945. She attended her schooling in Southern Ontario culminating in a Nursing certification from the General Hospital at The University of Guelph. It was in Guelph where she met Bill. Post-graduation the two married and moved to Saskatoon so that Bill could begin an internship at the newly opened Western College of Veterinary Medicine. A steadfast supporter of Bill's career, Lynn led a dynamic and varied career in health care and also became pretty good at tying skates. She spent time nursing in numerous capacities in Saskatoon hospitals and later in her career she took on a leadership role in Saskatoon's long term care community. The world is full of givers and takers and Lynn gave everything she had to the betterment of her family and the wellbeing of those under her care.
Lynn mourned deeply the loss of Bill in 2002. Creating and navigating a new normal, she continued to nurture long-time friendships across the country and grow new ones for herself. She shared many road trips, phone calls, meals, stories and laughs with her network and she cherished those times immensely. Her caring spirit led her to spending many afternoons volunteering at Sherbrooke Community Centre while her curious mind always found interesting conversations ranging from the prospects of the stock market to the most recent Scotty's final. She was a dog lover and found happiness following her favorite artists. She loved to reminisce about her career, keep up on professional curling, and brag about her family.
Lynn will be greatly missed and always loved by her son Loren (Nicole) and grandchildren Mack and Thalia and son Brennen (Melissa) and grandchildren Ellie, Ava, and Scarlet. Lynn was immensely proud of her sons and their commitment to their families. She took every opportunity to marvel at her grandchildren’s stories, interests, talents, kindness, and love of life. We will all miss her.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that you consider a donation to Sherbrooke Community Centre, The Sandra Schmirler Foundation or the charity that most reminds you of Lynn.
There will be a private Celebration of Lynn’s life at a later date.
Arrangements entrusted to David Polzen.
