

Madelaine Marguerite Walker (née Staples), born on February 21, 1941, slipped away peacefully on Tuesday, December 9, at City Hospital. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Laine is survived by her loving husband of 63 years Edward Walker; her son, Jeffery (Joan); and her daughter, Emma (Vince). She adored her grandchildren: Drayton (Ashley), Debra-Anne (Damien), Ryan, Brock, Crystal, Samantha and Anthony who brought her great joy. She also enjoyed learning about the adventures or seeing pictures of her great-grandchildren: Andrew, Kennedi, Rebecca, Ava, Dakota and Natalie.
Laine also leaves behind her brother Ken (Bridgette); sisters: Sharon, Debbie, and Susan; brother-in-law Peter Walker; many nieces and nephews; and her special friend Reverend Amy Bunce, all of whom will remember her warmth and kindness.
Their daughter, Nicole, will be waiting for her at Heaven's gate, where they will be reunited once more.
Laine was a renowned weaver, spinner, and overall maker of beautiful things, known for her precision, organization and artistic talent. She was a mentor and an inspiration to all in the artisan world. Her leadership in prayer shawl groups, Grandmothers for Grandmothers, and L’Arche will be deeply missed.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2025, at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church (10 Grosvenor Crescent, Saskatoon). An interment will take place at Christopher Lake in the spring.
