July 11, 1935 - March 26, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marlene Braybrook, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was predeceased by her parents Russell and Elizabeth Plue, brother Stan Plue, sister-in-law Ruth Plue, and son Kelly Braybrook. Marlene is survived by her husband of 63 years, Fred, sons Terry (Shareen), Guy, Bob (Simone), Todd (Laurie), and her brother Bill (Pat). Marlene was very proud of her 13 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Marlene was born in Saskatoon and attended Buena Vista School and Technical Collegiate. She enjoyed a career with the SGI Licensing Division, retiring in 2000 after 30 years of service. She was a loving person and the best wife, mother, grandmother, auntie, sister, and friend anyone would want. She enjoyed many years going to the family cabin at Emerald Lake where she enjoyed sitting on the deck, many fires, meals, and time spent with family and friends for over 48 years. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and the many people whose lives she touched. We want to offer special thanks to Dr. Friggstad, Dr. Pearson, and staff at the Cancer Clinic, RUH, City Hospital, and finally the Palliative Care Unit at St. Paul’s Hospital for their wonderful care over the past four years. A Celebration of Marlene’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Mayfair United Church (902 33rd St. W.) in Saskatoon. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Saskatoon Cancer Centre (20 Campus Dr, Saskatoon, SK S7N 4H4) or the St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation – Palliative Care Unit (1702 20th St. W., Saskatoon, SK S7M 0Z9). Arrangements in care of David Schurr - Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
