On March 4th, 2026, Michael Tkachuk passed away peacefully at 54 years of age. Michael was born and raised in Hafford, SK and attended the University of Saskatchewan and the SIAST Palliser Campus in Moose Jaw, SK. Michael worked at various jobs throughout his life with his last and longest stint being with CP Rail. Michael was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in fall of 2025, but treatments were proving positive and he was winning that battle.
Michael was predeceased by his grandparents William and Ann Tkachuk, John and Elizabeth O’Donahue, brother Cameron, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, including Dean Boklaschuk (cousin) and Joyce Tkachuk (Aunt), both of Hafford. Michael is survived by his parents, Don and Esther; brother, Les (Christine, Liam Alexis), a few uncles, an aunt, numerous cousins, friends and colleagues that touched his life, allowing him to thoroughly enjoy his time with us. For that, Michael was very grateful.
A Celebration of Michael’s Life will be held at the St. Solange Roman Catholic Church in Hafford, SK. The Celebrant will be Rev. Fr. Peter Paase. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, March 10th, 2026, followed by a Rite of Committal and then lunch in the church basement.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to put that gesture towards the effort of spending time with your own family members and friends and to treasure that time you have left together. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Mourning Glory Funeral Services of Saskatoon.
