

Neil was predeceased by his beloved wife and life partner, Verna, son, Curtis, parents Henry and Veronica Buechler, father and mother-in-law, Armour and Freda Hammond, four brothers and one sister, as well as extended family members.
Left to mourn are his daughter, Jill, son Brent and his wife Vicki, daughter-in-law, Tracy and grandchildren, Troy and Tamara. Neil was proud of his family’s achievements.
He is also remembered by his sister, Mildred, brother, Norbert, extended family members and numerous nieces and nephews.
Neil grew up in Denzil, Saskatchewan and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School. He participated in the usual small-town activities - baseball, hockey, curling, but particularly enjoyed attending Canadian Army Cadet Camps and later, officer training in the RCAF reserve.
Through lifelong learning, hard work, perseverance and strong core values, Neil was promoted to the position of Managing Director of the world’s leading professional services firm in risk, strategy and people. At retirement, he was appointed to the Advisory Board of the firm, whose membership included a former Prime Minister of Canada, four Provincial Premiers and a number of Canada’s corporate elite. In addition, he served on the Board of Directors for numerous Corporate and Not-for-Profit organizations.
He and his wife Verna had the great honour to have been dinner guests of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip on two occasions.
Neil was very generous donating to many charities and organizations. He was respected by many for his thoughtfulness, quick wit and sage advice.
When the day is over and you have done your best, wait the results in peace.
At Neil’s request, there will be no funeral service.
