It is with great sadness that our family announces the sudden passing of Raymond Allan Agarand on October 30, 2022. There will be a Celebration of Ray’s Life after Christmas and will posted at a later date.
Ray is survived by his children, Brenden and Carissa (Lucien); his 4 grandchildren, Kaysen, Maddox, Lennox and Henrix; the mother of his children and close friend Candy (Dallas); Grandma Helen; his Papa Armand and Moyra; his siblings Gordon, Laurie and Colleen; and many close nieces and nephews. Ray was predeceased by his mother Caroline; his father Lloyd; his sister Arlene; and Grandma Dora.
Ray was born on September 23rd, 1967 in Hafford Saskatchewan and grew up in Saskatoon. He attended Walter Murray Collegiate and pursued a career in the construction trade.
Ray and Candy were childhood friends, they started dating in their early teenage years. They raised their two children together. Ray was a great Dad, he was very patient, kind and he loved spending time with his family. Ray and Candy separated but they remained friends and enjoyed raising their children together.
Ray became a Dad to his son Brenden in 1990, he was his little side kick. Ray’s daughter Carissa was born in 1992, she had him wrapped around her finger from the minute he saw her. Ray was very proud of his children, they meant the world to him. His children loved how he would always build forts with them, he made the best paper airplanes and they will never forget how he would warm their blankets in the dryer before bed. When Ray became a Grandpa, his grandchildren then became his everything, he was the best Grandpa.
Ray was not only an amazing Dad to his children and Grandpa to his grandchildren, he also played a big role in the lives of his many nieces and nephews. He was always there for them when they needed him. Ray knew exactly what everyone needed even when they did not.
Ray was very active. He loved to ride his bike and even in the middle winter, he would ride across town and not because he had to but because he loved to. He had many hobbies such as buying and selling cars, fishing, spending time with friends and family and working on all sorts of projects. Ray loved to cook and bake. He learned to do this from the many wonderful women in his family. He also spent a lot of time at the farm with his Papa, Moyra, his son Brenden and grandson Kaysen. Ray loved many things but his main passion was looking after everyone. He had such a big heart and he was known by all for that.
Unfortunately, Ray suffered a serious work injury that caused him to not be able to work anymore. He was in a lot of pain and had to get many surgeries. This was very hard on him and his family because he loved to be active and stay busy. Ray adapted to this part of his life by being there for everyone, even more than he already was. Ray had such a kind soul, he could never hurt anyone or anything.
Ray made friends easily. He seemed to always know someone wherever he went but his best friend was his son Brenden. Brenden and Ray were very close. They shared many similar interests such as buying and selling cars, fishing, cooking and many, many other things. They were always there for each other. It was a blessing that they got to spend so much time together over the past years.
“He asked for so little, but gave so much.”
