The passing of Roger Jackson age 62 years of Saskatoon, occurred suddenly on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at his residence. Roger is survived by his mother Florence of Southwick, England; brother John of York, England; brother Brian (Christine) of Livingstone, Scotland; nephew Timothy and nieces Cheryl and Natasha all of Livingstone, Scotland; Rogers wife Sheila of Gloucester, England and stepdaughter Anita (Wayne) and step grandchildren Megan, Jack and Hope all of Gloucester, England; several uncles, aunts and numerous cousins all in Canada and countless friends and colleagues. Roger was predeceased by his father, Maurice in 2008. Roger was born May 15, 1948 in Toronto, Ontario. The family moved to England when he was a youngster. Roger worked in England as a salesman and manager in the building supplies industry over several years. Roger and Sheila came to Saskatoon in 1993 where Roger lived until his passing. Roger also worked for CAA in Saskatoon. In 1995 Roger and Sheila purchased Chocolaterie Bernard Callebaut on 2nd Ave. in Saskatoon. They relocated the business to 21st Street and then to the 8th Street location. Roger enjoyed photography in general when he had the time, and traveling to different countries. Roger’s real passion was watching soccer, in particular Manchester United, and also enjoyed listening to a wide range of music. His computer was one of his favorite pastimes. Roger will be sadly missed by all who knew him. A Memorial Service lead by Rev. Jack Carr will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 1:30pm from Acadia-McKague’s Funeral Centre (915 Acadia Dr., Saskatoon, SK). Internment will take place at the Columbarium St. John’s, Saskatoon, SK. In lieu of floral tributes, donations may be made to the donor’s choice, in memory of Roger. Arrangements have been entrusted to John Janex of Acadia-McKague’s Funeral Center (955-1600). Condolences may be offered to the family by visiting acadiamckaguesfuneralcentre.com
