Scott’s life support was removed Wednesday November 3rd and he died peacefully with family by his side. Scott will be greatly missed by Erin McCormick, his wife of 17 years, his daughters Madisson, Cameron and Rori, his mother Diane (Alex Barath) and father Gary (Linda McCormick) his grandmother Leone Bohrson, his siblings Tara Watson (Makenna and Evan) and brothers Travis, Trevor and Mandy McCormick (Everly and Callum) and Kyle and Heather McCormick (Hank), mother and father in- law Blake and Linda McQueen, brother-in-law Sean McQueen (Owen and Kyle) and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Scott is predeceased by his grandparents Robert Bohrson and Bud and Jean McCormick. Scott was born on June 23rd 1977 in Vancouver, BC to his parents Diane and Gary and big sister Tara. Scott grew up in Saskatoon with his mom and sister and made regular commutes to visit his dad and step mom and younger brothers. Scott was an easy going young boy with many close friends at school and in his community. He developed a love of skiing while visiting his Dad and step mom in Penticton and was involved in a local bowling league and played ball. He spent many hours with his cousins at the family farm having outdoor adventures and also played hockey and spent time with both sets of grandparents in Hanley. He had many camping opportunities with grandparents. Scott shared his love of skiing, boating, camping and the outdoors with his own family throughout his adult life. Scott attended St. George Elementary and Bishop James Mahoney High School and had his grade 7 year at Westpark Junior High while living with his dad and family in Red Deer. In 1994, at the age of 16, Scott became a father to Madisson. Despite his young age, Scott always made an effort to be a hands-on dad to Madi. Scott worked in various jobs throughout high school such as a pizza boy and later his "Junk to the dump" business. On Halloween 1999, Scott met his loving wife Erin at their work place. They fell very quickly in love and spent every moment together with Madi. In 2001, Scott began his career as a shotcrete nozzleman at Top Shot Concrete. It was there that he completed his journeyman apprenticeship as a red seal concrete finisher. In 2004, Scott began his first job in an underground mine, as a shotcrete nozzleman at the Debeers Diamond Mine and Scott continued his career in mining for various companies such as Procon, Thyssen and Jetcrete North America. Scott also had his own business "Countercrete Concrete Designs", making concrete countertops for kitchen, bath and business installations. In 2004 Scott and Erin purchased their home acreage north of Osler, where they built and operated their indoor therapeutic riding facility called Equilibrium Therapeutic Riding Inc. Scott and Erin welcomed their daughters Cameron and Rori into the world in 2009 and 2012 respectively. The family enjoyed outdoor adventures such as camping at Christopher Lake, canoe tripping and annual ski trips to Fairmont, BC. We are deeply saddened by the loss of Scott, the most kind hearted and loving husband and father, son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend to so many. The family would like to thank all the staff at the RUH ER and Intensive Care Units and EMS staff. We would also like to thank all our family, friends, Erin's riders and their families, our church family, our skating family, Erin's best friend Diane Reaser and many other close friends of Scott and Erin who have gone beyond imagination to surround us with love and support during this tragedy. Today we challenge you to show love and compassion to all who cross your path as a tribute to Scott.
