Shane Michael Resch passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the young age of 39. Shane was born in Outlook, Saskatchewan on May 15, 1977 to Linda Resch. As a boy he lived in Outlook, Saskatoon & Kindersley before settling for good back in Saskatoon.
Shane`s biggest love was for his family; especially his daughter Sami. He loved spending summers with his sister at their grandpa and grandma`s farm, learning to drive & spending time in the shop. He missed his grandpa and grandma when they passed away and stepped up to try and fill their shoes with everyone they left behind. Shane finally got everything he wished for when he met his soulmate and married Sharon. With her he gained his two sons; Kade & Ethan.
Shane loved anything to do with the outdoors; but most of all hunting, fishing and quadding. He loved to pass on this passion and experience with the younger boys and Sami; taking them on his outings every chance he got. He looked forward to his annual hunting trip each fall in Davidson with Nevin, Kade and any other guys that came each year. Shane also loved his quiet times he spent fishing off his boat.
Shane was a business man. He was a very hard worker and took great pride in anything he built. It had to be perfect. He was very outgoing and met a lot of great people over the years. It didn`t matter where he went, he always ran into an old friend or met someone new. It`s no secret who his right hand girl had become over the years. Wherever he was conducting business in his big green truck, you would find Samantha right along with him. Shane and Samantha were a team.
Sports were always a huge part of Shane`s life starting in high school with basketball and football. He was an avid Raiders and Riders fan. It extended into coaching his children`s baseball and lacrosse teams. As the kids got older you could find him in the stands of a football game or behind the glass at the curling rink. He was their biggest supporter and fan. He was very proud of his kids and all of their accomplishments and loved sharing stories about them with everyone. Shane absolutely loved being a father.
Shane always had words of wisdom for his nieces & nephews along with any other young people around him. The little ones always knew that Uncle Shane`s candy drawer was always stocked with special treats.
Shane enjoyed travelling. He took his family to Toronto, Niagara Falls and Banff. Shane and Sharon travelled to the Maritimes where he went whale watching and lobster fishing. He and Sharon also spent a memorable vacation in Mexico where he went deep sea fishing, snorkeling, quadding in the jungle, swimming in the underwater caves and drinking way too much tequila.
Shane was a rock to his family and will be truly missed by all. He will be forever and lovingly remembered by his wife Sharon, his daughter Samantha, his sons Kade and Ethan. Also his mother Linda Resch, sister Shannon and Ryan (Mackenzie, Rihana, Jalayna, Nicholas) Bielecki, father-in-law Ronald Chatterson, mother-in-law Veronica Henderson, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bruce and Richelle (Braxton and Cohen) Chatterson along with many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents John and Jean Chester.
A Celebration of Shane`s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Mennonite Church (111 Whitney Avenue N) in Saskatoon on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, with Pastor Keith Pankratz officiating. Internment will take place at a later date. Arrangements in care of Mourning Glory Funeral Services (306) 978-5200.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Shane`s memory to his children`s education fund in care of Sharon Resch (430 Ball Way, Saskatoon, SK S7K 6E7).
