

Shirley passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on January 30, 2016. Born June 26, 1929 in Melfort, SK, Shirley grew up with a love for the Lord and missions. Following graduation from Millar Memorial Bible Institute in 1950, Shirley married her childhood sweetheart, W. Carey Lees. Together they served as missionaries from 1953-1991 with the Christian organization, SIM International in Niger, W. Africa, before retiring in Saskatoon. For the past two years Shirley resided at Luther Special Care Home and received loving, compassionate care from the wonderful staff.
Shirley will be profoundly missed by her husband of 65 years, Carey Lees, her five children, Judy (Gordon) Evans, Jerry (Wendy) Lees, Joanne (Dave) Gartner, Jeanne (Jim) Willis, and Joyce (Roy) Nickel, along with 17 grandchildren, their spouses, 12 great-grandchildren, and her sisters, Ina Adams, Anne Flodell, Ivy Menzies, Vera Slater and sister-in-law, Dell Menzies. She was predeceased by her parents, 7 siblings, and a precious great-granddaughter, Alyssa Evans. A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Ebenezer Baptist Church (107 McWillie Ave) in Saskatoon, SK.
