It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Steve on October 9, 2024. Steve passed away peacefully with his wife Betty at his side. Steve fought a hard battle with a rare brain cancer. Before his passing, he was able to spend a lot of quality time reminiscing with many close friends and family.
Steve was born on May 10, 1958 in Rosetown, Saskatchewan. His family moved to Saskatoon shortly after his birth. He lived in Saskatoon most of his life and a short period in Calgary, Alberta. Steve attended school at St. Edward’s and Bishop Klein Elementary and graduated from E.D Feehan High School, and went on to the University of Saskatchewan for one year where he studied physical education. He worked a variety of jobs before joining the family business with his mother, father and brothers at City Iron Works where a lot of his creative side would shine through his designs. His biggest passion was his bass guitar and perusing his love of all music. When Steve was in high school he had many interests such as the wrestling team, football team, skiing, and photography, he was always seen with camera in hand taking pictures all over the school. His top interest throughout his life was music and perfecting his craft.
Steve had many hobbies including riding his Harley, watching and collecting classic movies, vinyl records, hot wheels, comics, antique furniture, camera's, musical instruments just to name a few. Steve was a witty, talented, caring, intelligent man with a heart of gold who would drop everything to help friends or family members in need. He was a well-known accomplished musician in the Saskatoon music community, and well liked by many of his fellow musicians.
Steve and Betty met in June 1979 and finally married on May18, 1991. They did a lot of travelling together over the years, which included Hungary, Hawaii and many trips to BC to see their daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren. Unfortunately, their last trip together was last December 2023. Steve started showing signs of an illness. He will forever be in our hearts and forever loved. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and brother. Steve is survived by his wife Betty, daughter Annette, son-in-law Jeff, grandchildren Karissa, Skylar, Rainer, William, and Nathan.
