Ted and Mary Cooper

Mary Katherine Chabun Born in Hudson Bay on July 21, 1940

Both passed away quietly at Stensrud Lodge in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on Tuesday 02/22/2022 at approximately 11 am and 11 pm respectively.

Their love story began in the 50’s; dancing, wearing poodle skirts, drape pants and drinking Cherry Cokes. That is what teenagers were doing for fun then. They met at Nutana High School and were married September 13, 1958. (64 years)

They have 4 children and 4 grandchildren. Ted and Mary were true partners, both supportive, understanding and accepting of the intricate layers and complexities involved in living life to its fullest.

They were fortunate and courageous enough to take on the opportunity to move to the West Coast and live in Los Angeles CA, Seattle WA, Edmonds WA, Vancouver BC, Richmond BC, Delta BC, Kamloops BC and Victoria BC. They returned to Saskatoon SK to retire and live a quiet life in a house Mary’s father built.

Their door was always open to all and when you arrived you were invited in to join them in a gourmet cup of coffee, which was Ted’s favorite, or a cup of tea, which was Mary’s favorite. There was always good conversation full of laughter and love.

Their beautiful circle of life was a wonderful whirlwind full of Art, Architecture, Carpentry, Cars, Design, Fishing, Gardening, Landscaping, Pie Baking, Sewing, Renovating, Loving their Family and their Pets.

They have chosen cremation and burial with Mary’s parents Mike & Soffie Chabun at Woodlawn Cemetery in Saskatoon Saskatchewan. which will take place Friday August 19, 2022 at 2:00 pm

“We cherish them immensely, will miss them deeply and think of them often with a happy heart. We can imagine they are outside in the sunshine just happy to be sitting and talking to each other”

Grandchildren: Erin Hossack, Dylan (Kelsi Trohan) Hossack, Chelsea Cooper, Calvin Cooper

Ted’s Sister Carol (Bob) Snyder and Daughters Susan Park, Tracy (Bob) Bauer

Tracy’s Daughters Ryley (Chris), Zoe (Mike) Grandsons Kiegan, Asher, Myles

Ted’s Niece: Cheryl Cargill-Hudson Daughters McKenzie and Lyndsay

Ted’s Nephew: David (Anita Dave) Cargill Son Neel

Mary’s Nephew: Larry Mann Son Bradly (Jodi Deprizio) Mann

Mary’s Cousins: Jim Kamp, Anne (Mike) Preece

Thank you kindly to Stensrud Lodge for the care of Mary and Ted.

We are grateful they were together and comfortable the last 2 months of their lives.
