Therese was born at the Wakaw hospital on January 20th, 1922 and grew up on the family farm near Reynaud, Sk. She took her early elementary schooling at the Shannon Lake School, and later finished some of her high school at Domremy. Her high school education was cut short by being needed in the fields when her Father had an operation. In her own words, she became a tom boy or Ted’s helper, but had challenges when her brother Ted had to unplug her plough or binder, time and time again. Her only gripe, “they purchased the combine the year I left home!” In 1945, Therese took hair dressing school at Marvel in Saskatoon and opened a shop in Paradise Hill. She later, moved to Saskatoon, where business was better. In 1948, Therese married Bobby Renneberg and they made their home in St. Benedict where he worked as a mechanic and she continued her hair dressing from home. Therese loved her sports from an early age, she had fond memories of playing with her siblings and others at school, playing hard ball (baseball), football, soccer and in winter played broom ball. Bobby was also a keen sportsman and coach and together they enjoyed taking their kids to their ball and hockey games. Later, she was the biggest cheer leader for her grandchildren and seldom missed any ball/hockey games. Her grandchildren were her biggest pride. In 1966, they moved to Cudworth, where they opened up a garage, gas station and a restaurant. In 1971, there was a final move to Saskatoon when Bob started working with the department of Highways. At this time Therese opened up her home to boarders whom she treated like her own. Therese liked to garden, also finding time to knit and crochet many items for her family and others. One of her greatest past times was playing cards with family and friends. There were also many fishing trips up north and to Bonne Madonne Lake, where she hooked many fish that she made into a delicious meal for her family. A Funeral Service will be held for Therese on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 10:30AM from St. Benedict Catholic Parish in St. Benedict, SK. Arrangements entrusted to Acadia-McKague’s Funeral Centre (306.955.1600).
