My condolences on the passing of Tracey. I had the opportunity to get to know him working on the Giant mine project in Yellowknife. I found him to be a kind, upstanding, and supportive colleague and friend, who always tried his best to understand how things were for me, a woman in the field of engineering in the remote north. Amongst all the people I’ve worked with over the years, Tracey stands out. He was a true gem and a gentleman, and my heart breaks for all that knew and loved him. My deepest condolences, Katrina

My sincere condolences to all of Tracey’s family, friends and colleagues.  The hole he left in our lives is irreplaceable.  

I was fortunate to know Tracey for a good portion of our working careers in various capacities and we became very close in the last decade.  In his professional life, he was one of the great ones, and an even better human being.  Tracey had many superpowers but a few that come to mind were his people skills and client relations: he was a rainmaker who formed deep connection with his clients and colleagues.  He had an uncanny ability to be in a room, and with total silence and that confident smile (with an undertone of youthful mischief), communicate without saying a word “I got you, everything is going to be okay”.   It was a rare gift he had, an old soul wisdom that communicated his competency and trustworthiness by his mere presence; he held space so well.     

I am honoured to have called Tracey my friend.  Rest in Peace dear friend.  Thank you for the gifts you shared with us.  I hope we can honour your life by sharing the gifts you selflessly shared with us. 

The last time I saw Tracey was in May of this year for our regular meeting and fellowship and we said goodbye with a trademark Tracey hug;  Hugs and love to everyone at this time of pain and loss.

He was a special coach for SMHA and the Saskatoon Renegades zone specifically.  
Tracey cared so much about the kids he coached and understood that there was more to minor hockey than the actual on-ice play.

I had the pleasure of being Tracey's colleague for over 13 years. Although I haven't worked with Tracey for nearly a decade now, he was always great about staying connected and meeting up for a beer when he was in Calgary. I admired Tracey for how calm, cool, and collected he always once particularly during moments of work stress. He was stabilizing for me, and helped me stay grounded. He was a wonderful colleague that was also a friend. I'm deeply saddened by this loss for you and all of us that had the pleasure of spending moments of time with Tracey during his life.

Wanted to express our deepest condolences from Bureau Veritas Laboratories, Tracey was beloved from coast to coast, we were all very shocked to hear of his passing.  His contributions to our world will be sorely missed and never forgotten.

Personally, not even sure I could call Tracey a client, we almost never talked about work, it just didn’t come up that often, he talked a fair amount of bs. I cherished our friendship and looked forward to connecting with Tracey and the SLR crew every time I could.  He’s among the most genuine people I can think of, where whoever you were, you could just be you.  I really admired Tracey, how he spoke of his family and what it meant to him.  The leadership he displayed in Industry; was from all accounts an amazing person to work for.  We got new dogs around the same time and the trials and tribulations of that.  I feel like sometimes we grew our hair out together so could measure progress at the next meeting, might have just been me 😊.  I’m really going to miss him, just a gem of a person.

’m honored to have worked alongside Tracey at SLR from the day I joined in 2019. As our Technical Director for air quality monitoring, he combined deep technical expertise with genuine warmth—always ready to lend a hand in the lab or share a steadying word in the field. Whether calibrating instruments at first light or poring over data late into the evening, Tracey’s professionalism set the standard for all of us. Yet it was his kindness, his quick wit, and his unfailing courtesy that I will remember most.

Tracey taught me what it means to care deeply about both our work and each other. I will always cherish the camaraderie of our projects and the quiet confidence he brought to every challenge. Though he is no longer with us, his dedication and spirit remain woven into everything we do at SLR.
