Valerie Kammermayer

The family of Val (nee Reaser) Kammermayer sadly announces her passing on Sunday, March 5, 2023. She is survived by her children Lynne Kammermayer (Terry Hilkewich), Lois Kammermayer, Kent Kammermayer (Kim Hope), and James Kammermayer. She is also survived by her grandchildren Tori Iwanicha (Peyton), Bree Downing (Kyle), Barrett Kammermayer, Keaton Cloud, Emily and Kaitlyn Kammermayer and her great-grandchildren Gia, Aria and baby Iwanicha and Jaxon Downing. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Joe in April 2011.

Val was born on June 17, 1934 and spent her early years on the farm with her parents, Alphonse and Frieda, and siblings Eileen, Roger, Al, Mary, Audrey, and Bob. Val moved to Saskatoon with her sister Eileen when she was 18 and married the love of her life when she was 21. Together they enjoyed a busy life raising their four children. The cabin at Wakaw Lake was a big part of their family life and many happy memories were made there. Val’s strong Catholic faith was her compass, guiding every action and decision. She was a devoted CWL member for over 50 years at Holy Spirit Church. She enjoyed the simple things in life and always appreciated God’s beautiful world. She truly was one of a kind – loving, accepting, forgiving, and had a great sense of humour. Val made a lasting impression on everyone who was lucky enough to know her. We will miss her kind and gentle spirit always. Mom, we love you.

Vigil of Prayers will be at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday March 9, 2023. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2023. Both services will be held at Holy Spirit Parish (114 Kingsmere Place). For those unable to attend please visit the link below to view the service.
