Vern John Zakoski

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Vern on March 5, 2026. He passed away peacefully with family by his side. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Estelle, son Trevor (Lorie), daughter-in-law Nadine and grandchildren Seth, Harley, Brenna and Daemon; as well as numerous relatives and friends. He was predeceased by and will be reunited in eternal peace with his son Byron, father John, mother Veronica, brother Lawrence Zakerson, in-laws Adonias and Marguerite Gaudet, nieces Tanya Lavertu and Tracey Painter, nephew Garrett Lavertu and many other loved relatives and friends. Vern loved his time at the lake (having lived there for 21 years). He loved nature in all its forms, enjoying snowmobiling and all water activities.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at St. Patrick’s Parish (3339 Centennial Drive, Saskatoon) with Fr. David Tumback, Celebrant. Rite of Committal will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 13 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens (210 Wess Road, Saskatoon). Arrangements are in care of Mourning Glory Funeral Service (306) 978-5200.
