It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the peaceful passing of our Wendy at the age of 69 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was daughter to the late John and Joan Dunn. Cherished wife of Frank for over 40 years. Proud mother of Candace Vena (Michael Lauricella). Loving sister of Judy Sherlock, Shirley Dunn and Kim Naccarato (Joe). She will be deeply missed by her sister-in-law, Jen Vena (Dave), as well as her special nieces Robyn, Rebecca and Bri and her nephews Matt Vena, Matt Schultz, Brandon and Drew. Her loss will also be felt by many other close family and friends.
Being a mother was everything to Wendy, she was a fierce and loyal protector and put her daughter above everything. She will be fondly remembered for being very 'fashion forward' with her high-heels and bright pink lipstick. She was a social butterfly, enjoying her lattes and wine with friends. She was an avid sports fan, cheering on her beloved Jays, Leafs, and Chiefs. She enjoyed a rewarding career as a manager in the Ontario Public Service, and continued her ambitious drive even in retirement, taking many jobs in retail. She was always there for anyone who needed her, leading with care and compassion.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Michela Febbraro and her team at the Cancer Care Unit, as well as her palliative care nurse, Nina. The family would also like to express a genuine and heartfelt thank you to the wonderful staff at A.R.C.H for their care and compassion.
Cremation has taken place and a private family Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St. E. - 705-759-2522). In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (made payable by cheque or online) to A.R.C.H. would be greatly appreciated by the family.
