

SOLTYS (Wierzbicki) Anna Magdelena (December 31, 1919 – December 25, 2010) – In her 90th year, Anna has peacefully entered the house of the Lord, following Henry, the love of her life. Lovingly grateful for her wonderful life are her children, John Soltys (Suzanne), Newmarket, Judy Lysiak (Bernard), Michael Soltys (late Shirley), Sarnia, Paul Soltys (Judie), Kathy Porter (Chip), Canton, Patti Soltys (Ron), Saskatoon, Joseph Soltys (Alison) and David Soltys (Karen). Predeceased by her parents Anna and Daniel Wierzbicki, and also predeceased by her sisters Jean Haetski (late John), Caroline Wierzbicki, brothers Joe Wierzbicki (late Velma), Stan Wierzbicki (late Candida), Alec Wierzbicki (late Vi), and predeceased by her brothers-in-law Raymond Soltys (late Amelia), Ed Soltys (Jeanine), Walter Soltys (Lil). Best friend and sister-in-law of Mary Pawelek (late Peter) and aunt of many nieces and nephews. Babci will always be cherished by her 17 grandchildren, Allyson and David (Korilea), Jeff (Jen) and Lori (Mark), Tony, Barbara (John) and Danielle (Neil), Jonathan (Michelle), Michael and Trevor, Paul, Neil (Kerry), Adam, Alanna (Scott) and Shannon, Sean and Matthew, and 12 great grandchildren, Kai Henry and Jasmine, Thomas and Henry, Mitch and Mel, Cassandra and Brittany, Sydney, Cameron and Olivia and Milla. She was known to don goalie gear to play hockey with the afore-mentioned. Many years ago she enjoyed playing organ and singing at St. Veronica’s Church. She enjoyed knitting for her family. She was an adventurous cook introducing us to Chinese food long before it was popular. Her desserts were fabulous, especially her tiered Pavlova (torte). Appreciative of her domestic efforts, Henry would whisk her off to Bermuda, Cuba and other destinations for fun and relaxation. She loved floating in the tropical waves. Those that she touched will remember her strong loving presence, her playful spirit, generosity and kindness. Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home and Cremation Centre on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 from 6 – 9 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated from St. Veronica’s Church on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 10 AM. Rev. Ron Ambeault officiating. Interment Holy Sepluchre Cemetery. Many thanks to the caring staff of the Van Daele nursing home (Third floor). In lieu of flowers donations to Extendicare Van Daele would be appreciated.
