Claude passed away surrounded by his loving children, at the age of 85. They take great comfort that he is now reunited with his wife Nancy (predeceased 2011).
Much loved father to Liisa Lee and Christopher Allen (Keri) of London. He absolutely adored his grandchildren: Carter Allen and Avery Dianne. He was son of the late Pierre and Beatrice Daoust. Survived by his siblings Gertrude Saal (late Rudy) and Wilfred Daoust (Linda), predeceased by Berthe Desloges (late Rene), Silvio, Ivan, Roland, Simone, Maurice (late Yvette) and Anita (late Tom), all of Sudbury. Missed by many nieces and nephews and their families.
Born in Sudbury, Ontario, Claude began his career as a Butcher for Dominion Stores and travelled throughout Ontario until he was sent to the Sault and met Nancy. His love of the outdoors will continue in his children and grandchildren. As an avid hunter and fisherman, he created lasting memories with his family and friends.
A special thank you to the Urology Clinic at Sault Area Hospital for their care and compassion.
A private celebration of life will be held for family at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East, 705-759-2522). Memorial contributions made payable online or by cheque to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Daoust family.
