Donald Joseph Gouchie

It is with the most profound grief we announce the passing of Don in the comfort of his home.

Don leaves behind his beloved wife of 71 years, Marguerite (nee Burton). Devoted father of Catherine, late Lynn, Judith (Terry), Donica, and JoAnne. Proud Papa of Annette (Brian), Pamela, and Melissa. Great Papa of Hailey (Mark), Hannah, Aleksander and Hudson. Great-great Papa of Alfie. He also leaves his brother Raymond (Lizette), and sisters Marion (Jimmy) and Doreen (late Jerry). He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Edna Gouchie, his brothers Earl and Gerald, and sisters Theresa and Bernadine “Bunny”. Don will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Don’s life was a legacy of kindness, humour, and generosity. His first priority was always caring for his family and loved ones. Through Gouchie’s IGA, and later with his work at Maple Leaf Motors, Don conducted himself with dignity and integrity, touching many lives in the community. He will be remembered as a consummate gentleman and a gentle soul. The loss of this great man, husband, father, papa, and friend will forever remain in all our hearts.

At Don’s request cremation has taken place. Memorial contribution (payable by cheque or online) to Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
