Evelyn was one of the founding members of the Sault Rising Stars. Their focus for many years was on safety awareness for the elderly.
Evelyn’s love for old time country music was the fabric upon where special friendships were formed and memories cherished. Evelyn and Raymond were founding members of the Joly Players Band and inductees of the Great Northern Opry and the Northern Ontario Country Music Association Hall of Fame.
On the shores of Lake Superior, the largest fresh water lake in the world, sits a rustic log cabin built by Evelyn and Raymond, “Richards Roost”. On a quiet summer evening, the neighbouring cottages on Horseshoe Bay would await their presence with anticipation of hearing those old time country melodies echo across the water.
On behalf of our mother, the family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caring, compassionate and dedicated staff and extended family at Apple Orchard One at the F.J. Davey Home during her time with them.
A private service will be held by family. Evelyn will be laid to rest at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (payable by cheque or online) to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Arthur Funeral Home – Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington Street East, 705-7509-2522). Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.arthurfuneralhome.com for the Richards family.
