It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Gord at the age of 93. He will be reunited with his beloved wife, Jean. Loving father of Michael, Patty (Rich) and Susan. Cherished Grandpa of Shawna, Julie (Matt) and Amanda. Great grandfather of James and Jayden. Predeceased by his sisters, Emily (Mel), Margaret (Earl) and Jessie (Taio) and his brothers, Robert (Lois) and Kelly (Alyce). Survived by his sister-in-law, Nancy Williamson (late Byron).
Gord's favourite time was being in the Army. He met his wife during his time there, where they came back to Sault Ste. Marie to start their lives together. He enjoyed a great meal and is fondly remembered for his time at Harmony Bay with his family.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Staff at the F.J. Davey Home and Pathways as well as the staff at the Sault Area Hospital for your care and compassion.
As per Gord's request there will be no formal funeral service at this time. A private family service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions (made payable by cheque or online) to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.
