Guy Mitchell Bonnin

Anyone who knew Guy will remember his quick wit, generous heart, and a knack for telling the kind of stories that got everyone laughing (and sometimes blushing). He was the life of the party, a loyal friend to many, and a man who never met a joke he couldn’t improve on.

Guy found joy in family and good company — especially while boating or curling and countless friends. With a glass of wine in hand and a mischievous grin, he could turn any gathering into a celebration.

Though Guy was the centre of attention in any room, his heart always belonged to his late wife Joanie, whom he deeply missed since her passing four years ago. Their love story — full of laughter, adventure, and shared humour — remains a beautiful legacy for all who knew them.

He is the Son of Isaie and Winnie Bonnin. Most beloved Dad of Amanda Burns (John) and Jill Bonnin (who he was famously “pleased and proud” of), Brother to Barbara Bourdage (Jerry), “Outlaw” Brother to Sharon Lysyj (Roman), Mike Smith, Valerie Stewart (Brian), Jennifer Fleming (Ken), Jerry Smith, and Rolly Smith (Noranda), doting Grampa to Raija Pine (Seth), Kali Pine (Kashish), Ché Grengs, Reece Burns and Silas Burns, Honourary Grampa to Marcel Grengs, Janelle Grengs, Pierre Grengs, Benoit Grengs, Austin Pine, and Nicholaus Grengs Jr, Great Grampa to Tommy-Joan, and entertaining Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Guy leaves behind friends and family who adored him as much as he did them, countless memories that will spark future laughter, and a reminder to live with warmth, humour, and heart.
