Herman Hector Cameron

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing at home of Herman at the age of 98 on May 11, 2026.

Beloved husband of the late Shirley Rosemond (nee Davis). Loving father of the late Evelyn McLean (Murray & Susan), Margaret Cameron McQueen (Fred), the late Scott Cameron, Willow Legacy (late Mansel), Kathleen Lavergne (late Larry) and Nancy Travaglini (Roger).

Special Grandpa to Michaela (Daniel), Kathleen (Zack), Meg (Ryan), Mitchell (Gen), Jackie (Chris), Spencer (Lea), Wes (Katie), Gabby (Matt) and Sam.

Great Grandpa to Nick, Christian, Marlowe, Davis, Elle, Owen, Ila, Fletcher, Brecken and Vivian.

Herman was born and raised in Lochaber, Antigonish, Nova Scotia. A place that he held dearly to his heart.

He was predeceased by his parents Hector Kenneth and Mary Ann Cameron; his brothers John (late Marie), Archie (late Beatrice) (Greta) and his sister Annie (late Rauleigh).

Also predeceased by his sisters-in-law Helen (late Tavy) and Lorna (late Harold); survived by his sister-in-law Barb (late John). Uncle Herman to many nieces and nephews.

A big thank you to all Dad's Healthcare team, his PSW'S and nurses that came to the home to help him, and special thanks to his physicians.

We would also like to thank his neighbours for their care and concern over the many years.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 at 11:30 am with Pastor John S. Faulkner officiating. Visitors are asked to arrive at the Chapel and line up in procession by 11:15 am.

A luncheon will follow the service downstairs at Arthur Funeral Home until 3:00 pm.

Memorial donations payable (by cheque or online) to A.R.C.H. or to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation, would be greatly appreciated.
