Howard was much loved by his wife Karen for over 66 years. Loving father of Geoffrey Bishop (Lisa Bruni) and Paula Bishop (Steven Dufrane). Dear brother of Wayne Bishop (Cathie) and Allan Bishop (Honore). Dear sister-in-law of Flora Bishop, the late Barbara Fletcher, Noella Depew, Ruth Fletcher (Ward Conway) and the late John Fletcher (late Peggy). Proud grandfather of Stephanie Burkell (Thomas), Erica Davies (Ryan), Shane Piché, MacKenzie Piché (Sean), Cole Piché and Danielle Bruni. Great Grandfather of Otto Adams. Howard is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Howard was born in Richards Landing and spent most of his life living in Sault Ste Marie. The family had earlier stints in Toronto and Burlington but the Soo would always be his home. When he wasn't working, boat trips, ski trips and a few rounds of golf with his vast circle of friends kept life fun. Best of all though was time spent with his children and grandchildren.
Howard spent his professional life in the men's clothing business in Sault Ste. Marie, Toronto and Hamilton before partnering with his brother Wayne at The Man Store which was later renamed Bishop's Fine Clothiers. He was also joined in the business by his son Geoff. It was a special gift for Howard to work alongside his son in a craft that they are both so passionate about. Howard spent countless weekends in Ohio with his daughter Paula where he usually had a paint brush in his hand. His final visit to her this past Christmas in Phoenix, Arizona was especially sweet for them both.
