Jean-Denis Leblanc

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Denis at the age of 70. He is son to the late Denis and Beatrice LeBlanc Nee Douglas. Cherished brother of Michel (Suzanne) and Joanne (Jean-Michel Rock). Loving uncle to Nicolas (Nathalie) and Sarah (Nathan).

He was proud to achieve his Bachelor's of Science Degree in Forestry and then his Masters of Science in Forestry at the University of Laval. He began his full time career at Great Lakes Forestry Centre in 1982, where he remained for his entire career. In his role as supervisor for Field Support Services he was extremely dedicated, knowledgeable and loved the adventures of field work. Denis will be fondly remembered for his ability to accumulate useless things. He was the self proclaimed "Scrooge" of the GLFC. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at 3C at the Sault Area Hospital and his personal PSW's for their care and compassion. A special heartfelt thanks to Rebecca for going above and beyond for Denis.

Friends and family are invited to visit Arthur Funeral Home - Barton & Kiteley Chapel (492 Wellington St E., 705-759-2522) for a Come & Go Memorial Visitation in Denis' honour on Wednesday October 22 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations (made payable by cheque or online) to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
